An experienced leader with a diverse skill set who is passionate about analyzing existing operational practices and planning and implementing critical new strategies to maximize resources, ensure compliance, and position the organization for greater growth.

 

When I'm not at my desk or traveling another country I can usually be found enjoying the great nordic and alpine skiing, biking, hiking, or climbing in my backyard!

A professional with nine years of leadership experience: three years of management in government and six years in nonprofit management. Dedicated to creating positive change in my community both around the corner and across the globe. FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

Experienced financial manager who has overseen bookkeeping and accounting for small to medium sized nonprofit organizations. Proficient in tax filing, audit preparation, annual reports, and developing financial reports for the board of directors.

TECHNICAL PROJECT MANAGEMENT

I have managed all aspects of several technical projects including a custom database software for tracking outcomes and a complex website and online sales platform. I led vendor selection, contract negotiation, needs assessment, business requirements, user acceptance testing, and deployment. A significant recent project can be seen here.

POLICY INTERPRETATION, COMPLIANCE, & APPLICATION

Skilled at interpreting and applying state and federal policy and regulation. My primary experience has been in the public assistance sector, serving as a policy specialist to apply policy to specific cases, but also to use the same policies to verify compliance and increase accuracy rates.

SPANISH

I am proficient in Spanish, having worked in Mexico, El Salvador, Peru, and Bolivia. Skilled at coming alongside international partners, listening to their needs, and working together to find solutions and achieve mutual goals.

Experienced leader managing the back-end operations of several distinct programs and a 1.3 million dollar annual budget.

Positively impacted my community through managing a career-training program for adults that positioned them to earn living wages in job sectors with opportunities for career laddering.

ELIGIBILITY OPERATIONS MANAGER, DEPARTMENT OF WORKFORCE SERVICES, STATE OF UTAH

Served in multiple roles including Eligibility Specialist, Trainer, Regional Program Specialist and Eligibility Supervisor.
Served the State of Utah by implementing unique solutions to difficult challenges, serving on numerous project and pilot teams, and significantly raising our accuracy rates in the state Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP).

Served as secretary on the board of Hope Unexpected. As part of my role I completed all paperwork to file for independent 501(3)c status and successfully achieved registration with the IRS.

REFUGEE MENTOR

Refugee Mentor serving an Iraqi family with Catholic Community Services in Salt Lake City, UT. Spent two years as part of a team helping orient a newly arrived immigrant family to life in Salt Lake City.

Worked with community members to increase their functional English language proficiency with The Word Project, Steepletown Ministries in Grand Rapids, Michigan
